The names of the nominees and the ranking of the nominees by the Selection Committee shall be held in confidence.

Nominations remain eligible for consideration for a period of three years, including the year of nomination.

The Selection Committee is made up of representatives of the three regional groups and includes representation from federal, provincial and municipal governments and the academic community.  The previous year’s Medal recipient is invited to chair the Selection Committee.
